Further delays for HTC Hero update to 2.1

How long do Hero users need to wait to be upgraded to 2.1? The grumblings from the Android community is that it could be as late as April not mid-March as we had previously been led to believe.


This has not gone down well with myself, as one of the main reasons I bought this phone and bought into Android was because the phone was updated frequently...or was supposed to.
It's also as if Google is rubbing salt in the preverbal wound by releasing Goggles and Buzz which can only be ran on later versions of the Android operating system.

Sense UI
One of the theorised reasons for the delay is that HTCs trademarked “Sense UI” has slowed the process down. I don't for one second believe this is true, as HTC has been releasing and announcing release dates for phones that run 2.1, and Sense. Call me Naive but it can't be that hard for a massive company like HTC to develop a 2.1 rom for Hero in a timely manner.

I personally feel that HTC is more concerned with creating new phones for new customers than with improving the experience for its existing customers.

Poor show HTC.
