Universal Updater

Post in brief, may include pictures too

Here is something exciting...

It looks like we will have a universal updater for all Android ROMs pretty soon if things go well.

We all know that AndroidSpin as the universal repository of Android ROMs - mirroring most popular ROMs as well as providing extremely detailed information on the ROMs themselves...
Thanks to SimonNWalker, we may soon be able to access this database, compare and download any ROM, theme or community application straight from our phones through a streamlined interface.
It has been suggested that the community could cannibalise much of the CM-Updater. I, for one, have given my full permission (unnecessary since I kept the code 100% open, but I want to give my support) for them to take any code they want from the CM-Updater.
With the new screen shot feature (still in beta) for themes that FireFart has been working on for the updater we could get previews of ROMs and themes before downloading them.

I would love for this project to go forward and provide us with a universal solution for all Android phones - even if it rendered the CM-Updater defunct.

Fingers crossed
