Apple announces its new product, the iPad

In the wake of the realise and announcement of Apples iPad, both community's Android and Apple are flooding with opinions, and views but are Apple users really happy with the iPad.

I only ask because the device lacks so much, even though leaks, rumors, and facts pointed towards Android being used on many tablets such as the Archos 5 and the Archos 7 [which yours truly will no doubt be buying].

The iPad lacks so many decent and much needed functions, such as the usb port and background support.

Why is it that Apple never shifts from the same design.

ie. the iPod touch is just a variation of the iPhone, and the iPad is just an extra large iTouch.
