I saw a large advert for a phone with a familiar looking bar along the top of the display... "That looks familiar.... hold on, that's Android!!!". It was the LG GW620...
For the first time since the G1 was released, I have finally seen an advert where the people plugging the phone actually mention the word ANDROID. "....a free app available on Android Market....."
Thank you T-Mobile and Virgin Media for finally putting across the fact that there IS an alternate OS to Symbian (although most people don't even know what that is) with an app market with "Just over 20,000 apps available...."
And then... 5 pages later there is a nice little advert from 3 featuring an HTC Hero (newly released on 3 as of a week ago in the UK) alongside a Nokia and a Samsung with the Hero being bang in the middle and a good deal bigger than the other two with the words "Google Android software" beneath it.
I know, it is sad that I am happy to see two adverts in one newspaper in one day that are both plugging Android, but what can I say, I am a bit like that.
Now if Vodaphone, O2 and Orange (to a lesser extent than O2) would buck up their acts, we could get that little bit more coverage we crave......
And Metro.... you have a shiney new iPhone app....how about giving us some Android lovin'?
